Guru Arjan Sahib states that the being who has sung the virtues of IkOankar (the Divine) through the Wisdom (Guru) has conquered the self. All their fears and worries have ended. Corresponding to the fifteen-day lunar calendar and each pauri (stanza) correlates to each day formed by the waxing and waning of the moon. In the fifteenth pauri, the negative thinking and ego are removed in individuals who remember Nam (Identification with IkOankar). Contentment, peace, and wisdom are found. Life becomes fruitful.

In the fifteenth salok (couplet), Guru Arjan describes the condition of those who have been able to become Wisdom-oriented and feel the presence of the Supreme Being. These are the people who are free. They have sung the virtues of the Knower of Creation and conquered the self through the Wisdom’s deep knowledge, or gurmat (mat literally means thinking, what develops our thoughts). This is the thinking behind the condition we seek, of freedom and feeling the presence of IkOankar (One Universal Integrative Force, 1Force, the One). In this condition, we sing the virtues. In this condition, through the grace of the truth-exemplifying Wisdom, our fears are erased, and our anxiety is destroyed. All our worries leave us.
