Corresponding to the fifteen-day lunar calendar and each pauri (stanza) correlates to each day formed by the waxing and waning of the moon. The fourteenth pauri states that the splendor of IkOankar is spread throughout the creation. In the fourteenth salok (couplet), Guru Arjan says that the Beautiful Charming One is pervading everywhere, in all four directions, in all fourteen worlds. The four directions refer to the four cardinal directions, while the fourteen worlds refer to an Indic system of the seven skies and the seven nether regions. Regardless of whatever paradigms we are working within, whatever worlds or realms or directions we believe in, the Beautiful One is present there. There is no place devoid of this One. Whereas the thirteenth salok and pauri (stanza) refer to our conditions and ailments, this salok refers to the cure. If we can understand that the Beautiful One dwells in every place we can imagine, if we can see that One everywhere, we will be able to complete our tasks and resolve our affairs, especially the ultimate task of resolving our separation from the One.
