In this Sabad, while addressing a mother-like truth-oriented companion (māī), the state of a being has been explained in the first-person style. The being has wasted their life in pride of material possessions. Life can be considered fruitful only when the being renounces ego and imbue its mind with the praises of IkOankar (the Divine).
