OverviewThis Sabad revealed by Guru Nanak Sahib in Rag Asa is recorded on page 417 of the Guru Granth Sahib. It has seven stanzas. The stanza of rahau is separate from them. This Sabad imparts Divine wisdom along with giving information regarding Babur’s (1483-1530 CE) invasion of Hindustan (the Persian name for northern India). Through the description of this invasion, the Guru, while showing the fragility of material things, considers the Divine will to be infallible.
In the Sabad, the Guru states that this world is a play created by IkOankar, whose command creates and destroys beings and things within a moment. To substantiate this, the Guru describes the town of Saidpur, which was full of activity just a few days before, but now is home to only destruction.
